Dr. Katz has been practicing for over 14 years, and has been performing minimally invasive procedures for the past decade.  Dr. Katz has performed over 500 minimally invasive procedures and his patients’ outcomes are consistently excellent.

Appointments are made in a timely manner.  Dr. Katz can usually see new patients with disc problems within a week.  Additionally, diagnostic testing (i.e. – x-rays, EMG/NCS, MRIs) can be conveniently performed at Westside Orthopaedic Clinic or across the street at one of several imaging facilities.  Dr. Katz, not a nurse practitioner or P.A., will see you for all of your appointments.

For the right patient, who has failed conservative treatment (i.e. – medication, PT, injections), a minimally invasive microdiscectomy can be done in an outpatient setting with an incision that can be covered by a band-aid.  The procedure typically takes less than an hour.  Most patients can return to normal activities within 3 to 6 weeks, depending on his/her individual circumstances.
